Ryzen 5 3600x Features

The AMD Ryzen 5 3600X is also built on a 7nm process node from TSMC, made up of 6 CPU Cores and a 12-thread processor designed on  Zen 2 architecture. The 3600X clocks up to 3.8GHz on the base frequency and up to 4.4GHz on the boost clock.

The Ryzen 3600X features a thermal design power of 95W and a Wraith Spire stock cooler, which helps keep the temperature down and generate higher performance for your system. The stock cooler makes the 3600X a terrific processor for your computer.

The 3600X features up to 4.8bn transistors across the 7nm process node that ensure excellent performance for your system. The 3600X also features the excellent DDR4-3200 memory type with 128GB memory size and ECC support; it also supports the PCI Express 4.0. All these incredible features come with a reasonable price tag too, making it one of the best processors in the market.

While the CPU is not as important as a GPU in determining a PC’s performance on demanding AAA games, it can make a difference depending on what you are trying to do. This is especially true for running videogames at full HD 1080p.

 5 3600x temperatures

Ryzen 5 3600X has good in-game performance as compared with more expensive CPUs like Intel Core i9-9900K and the Ryzen 9 3900X.

On the other hand, not all games are limited by CPU performance. Counter Strike: Global Offensive is one of many games that will still run at max FPS on most CPUs. Out of the CPUs we tested, nearly all managed to achieve 400fps at 1080p resolution with it running. Playing at 4K resolution? The graphics card will limit your performance more than the CPU. All the CPUs were able to achieve around 70fps on Far Cry 5 at 4K.

Ryzen 7 3700x Features

The Ryzen 7 3700X is one of AMD’s 3rd generation Ryzen chips based on Zen 2 architecture. The 3700X is built on a 7nm manufacturing node, boasting eight cores and 16 threads. The Octa-Core processor handles 3.6GHz on the base clock and a staggering 4.4GHz on the boost clock. The Ryzen 3700X’s 7nm chip bags more than 19.2bn transistors make sure to offer an excellent gaming performance.

It also features the Wraith PRISM cooler, with RGB lighting to ensure low temperatures and higher performance for your system. Its impressive 65watt TDP provides to offer maximum performance and lower power consumption.

The Ryzen 7 3700X also packs more L2 and L3 cache, 4MB and 32MB, making a total of 36MB of Cache that boosts the gaming performance of the processor, especially in older 1080p esports games. It also features the DDR4-3200 memory type with 128GB memory size and ECC support.

3700x temperatures

In gaming, the AMD Ryzen 7 3700X pulled ahead from Intel by an even smaller margin than before. In Middle Earth: Shadow of War at 4K, the AMD Ryzen 7 3700X managed 118 fps when paired with an Nvidia GeForce GTX 1080 Ti, compared to the other’s 120fps. There’s not much in it, but Intel still seems to be just in front.

First things first, the Wraith Spire is a decent cooler for the price. For a budget-oriented CPU, it is a welcome addition that does not limit what it can do.

The Differences between Ryzen 5 3600X and Ryzen 7 3700X

The main difference between the Ryzen 3600X and 3700X is the two physical cores and four threads. The Ryzen 3700X features extra two cores and four threads, making a total of 8 cores and 16 threads, compared to 3600X’s six cores and 12 threads.

Another difference can be seen in the clocked frequency on base, the 3700X clocks about 3.6GHz on base frequency, while the 3600X clocks about 3.8GHz on base frequency.

The 3700X features more than 19bn transistors across its 7nm chipset, while the 3600X features about 4.8bn transistors across its 7nm process node.

One of the most important differences between the 3600X and the 3700X is the Thermal Design Power; the 3700X has a TDP of 65 watts, while the 3600X has a TDP of 95 watts. It means that the 3700X is more power-efficient, while the 3600X is more power-consuming.  The 3700X consumes up to 32% less energy than the 3600X.

Apart from the extra cores and threads, the TDP, and the base clock, there isn’t much difference between the 3600X and the 3700X. After testing both the processors thoroughly, we noticed that there isn’t much difference in performance; although the 3700X is much faster, the 3600X can run the same workloads efficiently. The 3600X is also cheaper as compared to the 3700X.

Conclusion

To sum it up, the extra cores and threads in the 3700X give it an edge in performance against the 3600X. The 3700X also consumes less power and can handle serious workloads other than just gaming, but the 3700X is quite expensive.

On the other hand, despite being short on cores and threads, the 3600X can easily provide you with one of the best gaming experience, it handles almost every heavy and latest games with ease, and it is also cheaper than the 3700X.

If you’re a gamer, you should probably go for the 3600X because it can run almost every heavy game with ease, and it is also relatively cheaper than the 3700X. But suppose you’re using other intensive applications too, like video editing and other stuff. In that case, the 3700X is the way to go because it can easily handle your gaming and application needs.
