The Ryzen 7 3700X is one of AMD’s 3rd generation Ryzen chips based on the company’s Zen 2 architecture. The 3700X is built on a 7nm manufacturing node, boasting eight cores and 16 threads, each core executing two threads simultaneously. The Octa-Core processor handles about 3.6GHz on the base clock and an incredible 4.4GHz on the boost clock.

The Differences between Ryzen 7 3700X and Ryzen 7 3800X
The first and foremost difference between the 3700X and 3800X is the amount of clocked frequency; the 3700X handles about 3.6GHz on base and up to 4.4GHz on turbo boost. While the 3800X handles up to 3.9GHz on base and about 4.5GHz on turbo boost. The 3800X clocks more frequency, both on-base and turbo boost frequency.

To be very honest, the Ryzen 7 3700X and the Ryzen 7 3800X are not so different from each other; both the processors offer great performances. The 3800X offers slightly better performance than the 3700X, but this advantage comes with a huge price.
The first thing is that the 3800X is too expensive and does not offer great value for money. The second thing is that the 3800X features 40W more TDP than the 3700X, which means that it has more power consumption than the 3700X.
I would never spend an extra 70$, or even more, just for a bit of edge in performance; in our opinion, it would be better to go for the 3700X because it offers almost the same performance with less power consumption lower price. So the Ryzen 3700X is the best choice between these two processors.
However, if you’re a performance fanatic and still prefer the 3800X over the 3700X, we recommend that you go for the 3900X. You will need to spend a little bit more than the 3800X, and you’ll get more value for your money.
